At Northwestern, he is the founding director (since 2011) of the Middle East and North African Studies Program (MENA), which features an undergraduate major and minor, a graduate cluster and . certificate, a language program (Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and Turkish), as well as a vibrant calendar of programming both on campus and in the community.
